Planning for the Final Cut of the Thriller Opening

The Rough Draft of the Final Cut





INITIAL IDEAS
As a group we started off by brainstorming ideas that we could use for our thriller opening. We used the knowledge and research we had of other thrillers and their opening to come up with a few scenarios that our thriller could consist of and what situations our protagonist could go through. We came up with a few ideas, such as someone witnessing a crime, someone trespassing an area and finding a dead body within it and having someone running through a forest and either witnessing someone being killed or finding a dead body. After talks about practicality, realism and uniqueness we decided to fall on the idea of someone running through a forest.

We originally had the idea that a small young girl was running in a forest after running away from their mother (playing not upset). After her mother had been shouting her name and searching the forest for her, the child would be seen looking down at a dead body in the forest. we had to adjust this idea quite a bit because of practicality. It was going to be hard for us to find the suitable people for our opening, although the mother would be easy to find the young girl was going to be difficult as non of us had young sisters.
